Northern Geekcast: MIGS 2008

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

This year, the Montreal International Gaming Summit (MIGS) attracted over 1500 people from all over the world, from developers, to students, and media. All four of our intrepid podcasters were there to capture the magic in order to return and share a little bit of that magic with you.

Also, here are a few articles from Gamasutra concerning some interesting presentations that were showcased during the event. The first by David Braben; the second, by Jonathan Blow.

Finally, just a quick note to let you know that we’ll be back next week with our regular podcast.

Little Big Planet: Review

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

I can’t believe I’ve still got my copy of Little Big Planet sitting on my shelf, and it’s still covered by its plastic wrapper. I know, it’s just shameful. The shear amount of user generated content alone should have been enough to drive me over the edge and made me open it up by now, but when you start making excuses for not having time and what-not, those start to pile up pretty quickly. Good thing we’ve got Evan in our back pocket to help us out when we need a hand around here.

So be sure to check out his little bit of editorial user generated content and find out why we should all be playing Little Big Planet!
