Back from the Dead?

Back from the Dead?

Well, not quite.

For the time being Northern Geeks is still on hiatus, but I figured this would be a good a time as any to let you guys know what I’ve been up to and what you can expect from me in the future. (And yes, you can expect something from me in the future!)

So I’ve been absent online for about 2 years now. (Time sure flies by when you’re buried under piles of assignments.)  This June I finally finished college for good (well, the time being I suppose…) and I decided it was high time I got back to updating this site. I’ve missed doing Northern Geeks, and I’ve always known I’d get back to it at some point, I just didn’t expect it to take me this long.

With that said, I wouldn’t want to have been away for 2 years just to come back to the “same old” site. That’s why I’ve decided to give the old site an overhaul with an updated page layout and new character designs. In fact, there will also be an update to the roster of characters since a lot has changed in my personal life over the last 2 years.

When I first started Northern Geeks back in 2008, I started out with producing 30 strips. Back then I was a big fan of the Webcomics Weekly podcast produced by Scott Kurtz and company, and they had always said that a good way to see if you have what it takes to produce a regular webcomic was to start off by making 30 strips before even posting online. And that’s what I did. This time around, I’ve decided to do the same. I’ve been away from the game far too long to just “hop in” again, and I want to make sure that I still have what it takes.

I’ve also been considering drawing some more Journal Comics. It’s probably going to take me a while to get the new site up and running, and drawing some fairly simple journal comics to post would, at the very least, keep the site somewhat lively.

So that’s how things are. No ETA on any of this of course, but I promise to update more frequently. And if you’re one of those who have still been visiting the site, I’d just like to say a big thank you. It always makes me happy to hear from people who loved the site and have been looking forward to its return. :)

So if you’re reading this, feel free to leave a comment! Let me know what you’d like to see on the new and improved Northern Geeks! :D

~Cheers

HOORAY!! Congrats on making it through college and can’t wait to see what you’ll come up with next! (: I’d love to see journal comics in addition to the revamped NG comic. Best of luck!
